[00:00:25] Speaker A: How's it going, Jeff? [00:00:26] Speaker B: Hello. [00:00:27] Speaker C: It's been so long since we spoke. [00:00:30] Speaker A: Yeah, I know. I can't remember the last time we spoke. Technically speaking. Technically speaking, this would go out before the movie podcast. [00:00:45] Speaker C: It's not the Doctor who movie. We've not time chapel one. [00:00:52] Speaker A: But how are you doing, man? You're doing well. [00:00:54] Speaker B: I am enough to match. [00:00:59] Speaker C: Thinking about 50 minutes might go for a midnight run. Other than that, it's sort of just work coffee. [00:01:10] Speaker B: In a lot of Final. [00:01:11] Speaker C: Fantasy seven remake at the moment to get it complete for rebirth. [00:01:19] Speaker B: And unrelated to anything, but I got. [00:01:24] Speaker C: A text from my phone. Because I've not used my phone in. [00:01:31] Speaker B: So long, they'll remove my number if. [00:01:36] Speaker C: I don't use it. So at lunchtime, I call my brother. [00:01:41] Speaker B: And he's probably thinking, are you dying? Why are you calling me? [00:01:51] Speaker C: Hi. Yeah, I'm just calling you. So don't lose my number. [00:01:57] Speaker A: I didn't know they would do that. That's great. [00:02:00] Speaker B: I think for about six months, and. [00:02:05] Speaker C: Looking at the last time I did anything was back in. [00:02:11] Speaker B: An eigth of. [00:02:12] Speaker C: September sometime about then. So it's just like a little warning message just to. [00:02:18] Speaker A: How dare they force you to use your phone. [00:02:20] Speaker B: Cheeky bastard. [00:02:22] Speaker A: Cheeky bastards. Well, as you already mentioned it, Final Fantasy seven. So we know you're playing the Final Fantasy seven, mate. But what other games are you currently playing? I should explain actually, before we go on to that stuff that we do three segments of the podcast. The first is currently playing, where we talk about what we're currently playing. The second is top news, where we discuss some of the news that's game related. Sometimes when Jeff is on, not game related. And third is we play together where we discuss the game of the episode, which you obviously know what it is because it's in the title of the podcast, which is boss and tales to the Minotaur king or Minotaur king. Or however you say it, Prince. Prince. Not king. Prince. Damn it. I'm a pleb. Or are you playing not. Dude, what are you currently playing? [00:03:22] Speaker C: So currently I've been doing some descale, Final Fantasy seven remake, cosmic star, and Tekken eight. [00:03:33] Speaker A: Okay, so that's four games you're currently bashing through. How are you finding Final Fantasy seven remake as you is the first one you mentioned? [00:03:43] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:03:45] Speaker C: So I played it when it was originally released back in. I believe it's April 2020. It's during a pandemic, if I recall. [00:03:55] Speaker B: Correctly, because I think I do remember. [00:03:58] Speaker C: Playing it whilst I was working from home. And yeah, I got to about chapter. [00:04:05] Speaker B: Nine and then I think I just ended up giving up on it because. [00:04:12] Speaker C: I wasn't liking it. I just thought I'll get to this one other day and the other day never came. And then four years later, near enough, we've got part two of it coming out at the end of February. So thought I best get a shift on. So up to chapter 16 out of 18. [00:04:34] Speaker B: Oh, not bad. Yeah. [00:04:37] Speaker C: I should hopefully finish it next week. [00:04:39] Speaker B: And be in a position to put. [00:04:42] Speaker C: Rebirth, Final Fantasy seven rebirth on my back burner for four years until a third one comes out. [00:04:52] Speaker A: Have you played integrate? Integrate. [00:04:58] Speaker B: Not side story plays, other characters or something? [00:05:03] Speaker C: Yeah. I think that's called intermission. [00:05:07] Speaker A: Intermission is it? [00:05:09] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:05:09] Speaker C: Integrade I think is like the update of PS five version. [00:05:14] Speaker A: Right. That's what I was getting confused with because they similar sounding names. [00:05:17] Speaker C: Yeah. It's actually a pain in the ass to find it on the PlayStation Store or PS five because they had it on PS four originally. [00:05:30] Speaker B: So I was getting it on PS. [00:05:31] Speaker C: Five and it's like what version do I get? I do have intermission and I think. [00:05:39] Speaker B: That'S like a five to six hour footprint average gamer. [00:05:44] Speaker C: So probably about 10 hours for me. I think that's like a smaller experience. So I do hope to get that finished as well. [00:05:54] Speaker B: That's cool. [00:05:55] Speaker A: How are you finding it compared to assuming you've played Final Fantasy seven throughout like the original version? [00:06:02] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:06:08] Speaker C: I'd say it's a really good. [00:06:15] Speaker B: Word. [00:06:18] Speaker C: I suppose. Maybe not testament to the original, but it's a really good remake. It is different to the original. Obviously there's a graphical fidelity as compared to the PlayStation one. In terms of the graphics, there's a massive difference. The story in remake, it's sort of focusing on the first portion of the game in Midgar. So they've expanded it, changed a few details here and there. But the gameplay system as well is something that's changed because the original was. [00:07:05] Speaker B: Your turn based rpg as this one's. [00:07:10] Speaker C: Got a bit more action to it. [00:07:12] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:07:16] Speaker C: I'd say it's a completely different experience, but one that has the. It's got the core story and core. [00:07:31] Speaker B: Elements running through it. [00:07:37] Speaker A: Are you hoping they do more Final Fantasy remakes in this style like 6578? Sorry. Or seven is already in the middle of nine. I know they remake in nine in they. But it's going to be more like nine was. Or is it being nor as much. [00:07:55] Speaker B: Of an upgrade. [00:07:59] Speaker C: The Final Fantasy nine? I think currently as it stands is. [00:08:03] Speaker B: Just a rumor. [00:08:07] Speaker C: Albeit one that has been sort of supported by some leaks. [00:08:12] Speaker B: But nothing confirmed as yet. I've also heard that. [00:08:19] Speaker C: I've also heard that we've mooted doing. [00:08:22] Speaker B: An anime based on ff nine or. [00:08:26] Speaker C: Some sort of show. Yeah, it's definitely something I'd. I'd like to see for different Final Fantasy games. I think six would be a big. [00:08:38] Speaker B: One, so, I mean, eight is my favorite. I think seven works well as a. [00:08:54] Speaker C: Remake because I guess everybody sort of enjoyed the story to it. They enjoyed the characters, whereas some of. [00:09:09] Speaker B: The other Final Fantasies that didn't get us, I suppose where there's been a bit more. [00:09:20] Speaker C: Less critical acclaim for it, you know, it's. Yeah, but I think either way, if they decide to remake another Final Fantasy. [00:09:32] Speaker B: I'd definitely grab it. [00:09:36] Speaker C: I know some people will sort of argue that making such grand changes that it's not something that they're enjoying, but I've always thought if it's not something that I prefer, I can always go back to the original payment. [00:09:57] Speaker B: They're always widely available. So some people were saying that they'd just want Final Fantasy seven, but with. [00:10:09] Speaker C: Updated graphics, they didn't want any changes to the story or of anything extra. A lot of people modded the original Final fantasy seven, so just one of. [00:10:23] Speaker B: The mods and. [00:10:28] Speaker C: Experience the original story, if that's your thing. [00:10:33] Speaker A: That's fair. How about the other games you've been playing then? So you said Final Fantasy seven, Tekken. [00:10:41] Speaker B: Eight, cosmic star heroine. [00:10:45] Speaker A: And what was the other one? [00:10:47] Speaker C: Discaya. [00:10:48] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, Discaya. How's this gaya going? [00:10:52] Speaker B: That's going all right. [00:10:54] Speaker C: It's my first time playing it, so. [00:10:56] Speaker B: I've been playing through with Finnie and. [00:10:59] Speaker C: She'S been guiding me. I'm not too sure how long it is. [00:11:06] Speaker B: I think I've gotten past chapter five. [00:11:12] Speaker C: I've been levelling up my character, us sort of in my spare time. [00:11:19] Speaker B: So it's been different but enjoyable. [00:11:25] Speaker A: Are you normally one for playing those tactical types of games, then? [00:11:31] Speaker C: No, because I think I'm too stupid for them, to be honest. [00:11:37] Speaker B: Don't be silly, Jeff. [00:11:39] Speaker C: Well, I think it's even the same. [00:11:45] Speaker B: With board games, actually, where I not want the patience to contemplate the longer. [00:11:57] Speaker C: Term impacts of my choices and sort. [00:12:03] Speaker B: Of just think about it briefly and. [00:12:08] Speaker C: Go for the short term gains. Ultimately, I've been getting food to scale, okay, but not without suffering casualties. So when I'm having to spend a load at the hospital to vibe all the characters that, yeah, their ass is. [00:12:32] Speaker B: Kicked like, yeah, that's just me, Jeff. So I think I'm probably a bit too impatient for strategy games and just not. [00:12:47] Speaker C: Maybe not too stupid for them, but. [00:12:50] Speaker B: Maybe I've not got the sort of. [00:12:53] Speaker C: Mindset that would allow me to excel at those games. But I've been enjoying the experience so far. [00:13:05] Speaker A: I get what you're saying. With tactical games, you got to kind of think a little bit ahead, but sometimes you just want to have some fun. Just stick your shit wherever you feel like sticking it. Fuck the consequences. [00:13:19] Speaker C: Yeah, well, you don't think about the. [00:13:22] Speaker A: Consequences until it's already happened and everyone's dead. [00:13:26] Speaker C: I think games like XCon probably punish. [00:13:30] Speaker B: You a bit more for rushing in and not taking your time to think about everything but Discaya, even though I have spent a bit more at the hospital than I would have liked, I have been getting through the story. [00:13:51] Speaker C: Okay. [00:13:55] Speaker A: That'S good. At least you're making progress. And you bought chapter five, you said. [00:13:59] Speaker B: So I don't know how far in. [00:14:01] Speaker A: The game that is. I've only played some of disguise one. And then I was like, oh, yes, I'm enjoying this. And then I didn't play much of it. And I was like, what? I do that with games sometimes. Enjoying it. And then I'll play something else, and then I'll start playing that and I'm like, oh, this is good. And then I'll play something else and I'll be like, oh, this is good. And I'll play. [00:14:22] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:14:23] Speaker C: My first introduction to Disgayer actually was. [00:14:26] Speaker B: A friend lent me one on ds. [00:14:30] Speaker C: I believe it's Descaya four. And I played it for about five. [00:14:35] Speaker B: Minutes to one side. [00:14:37] Speaker C: And about one year later he asked for it back. So obviously gave it him back. [00:14:44] Speaker A: Nay. My game now possession is nine tenths of the law. He said, german run away with her. [00:14:55] Speaker B: Pretty much. [00:14:57] Speaker C: Fair enough. [00:14:59] Speaker B: He said a bit back and was like, fine. [00:15:07] Speaker A: Ah, how is technate for you, then? I'm more of a street fighter kind of guy than a 3d fighter kind of guy, but I'm awful at fighting games. Like, really bad. So, yeah, I was technate. [00:15:22] Speaker C: Yeah, I'm also awful at fighting games, but I'm having. [00:15:29] Speaker B: I play through the story mode. [00:15:33] Speaker C: And yeah, I think that the story has been really good. I won't spoil it for anybody who wants to experience it. [00:15:43] Speaker A: I bet you any money people fighting it. [00:15:46] Speaker C: Yeah, there's fighting. It's sort of like the conflict between Kazuya and Jin, who are father and son. It's been going on for quite a few games now. [00:15:58] Speaker B: But I guess the quality from Tekken. [00:16:06] Speaker C: Seven to Tekken eight, because Tekken seven, from what I remember, it does follow this random journalist. It's done like via stills. Whereas Tekken eight is sort of all scenes, quite a lot of animation to it as well. All right, and action. Tekken seven, the story was okay, but. [00:16:34] Speaker B: You sort of like, just shut this. [00:16:37] Speaker C: Journalist up and let's get to the next fight. Whereas Tekken eight, you can sort of. [00:16:44] Speaker B: Sit back and could probably do it. [00:16:47] Speaker C: As a movie review on your podcast at some point, to be honest. And then, yeah, playing it with friends as well online has been really fun. None of us are sort of like professional fighting game players, but obviously some of them are really good. But we're at that sort of skill level where we can just enjoy it. [00:17:13] Speaker B: And not get too upset about any losses. [00:17:21] Speaker A: I bet you cry yourself to sleep every time. No. [00:17:26] Speaker C: I did actually get the collector's edition as well. So we got little gin statue. [00:17:32] Speaker A: Oh, nice. [00:17:33] Speaker B: Pretty good quality. [00:17:34] Speaker C: It lights up as well. [00:17:37] Speaker B: You plug it in a wing. [00:17:43] Speaker C: I got a similar statue for Final Fantasy 16 and I must have praised a Namco bandai. Namco. [00:17:52] Speaker B: They have produced a better quality statue in square Enix. Bastards. [00:17:59] Speaker A: And I. Everyone should be giving you amazing quality shit or shit shit. [00:18:06] Speaker C: For the amount you pay for them. Yeah, I agree. The square Enix statue is really well designed and looks nice as well, but. [00:18:19] Speaker B: Just feels quite plasticky as the gin one feels more dense. [00:18:32] Speaker A: I have not played Final Fantasy 16. Neither have I played Tekken eight. The last tekken I played was Tekken seven. And I started the game and I was Sonya. I think her name is. [00:18:44] Speaker B: No. [00:18:45] Speaker A: Nina Williams. [00:18:46] Speaker B: Yeah, Nina. [00:18:47] Speaker A: As the kid of Sonya Blade, which is mortal Kombat Nina Williams. And you start off as Nina and you have to fight Haachi or ever his name is. And I couldn't even win that fight. And that's the very beginning of the game. That's about our tekken. [00:19:06] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:19:08] Speaker C: Would you pick Tekkenate up at all to it is crossplay as well? Actually, that's one of the good thing. [00:19:14] Speaker A: So is Street Fighter six. [00:19:18] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:19:22] Speaker A: Probably wouldn't pick up. I grabbed seven on the off chance and I played it once. I'm just so bad at fighting games. I rarely get them. I grabbed Street Fighter six because I managed to get it for a fairly decent price, like. [00:19:35] Speaker B: But there you go. That's fair. [00:19:42] Speaker A: Cosmic star, heroine. Good game that. [00:19:45] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:19:46] Speaker A: Are you finding it? [00:19:47] Speaker B: It is, yeah. [00:19:50] Speaker C: I'm on chapter seven. So far really enjoying the battle system. So for those who don't know, it's like an rpg, sort of a classic. [00:20:01] Speaker B: Style one similar to suppose like Fantasy Star trigger. [00:20:07] Speaker C: It's got battle system sort of like Final Fantasy ten. It's like a mixture of all these games, all these sort of classic rpgs. Yeah, it's been really fun so far. It's one that I saw you play. [00:20:23] Speaker B: Back in 2019 or 2020, and I thought it's the one that I pick up right away. Then about five or five years later, I finally got into it. [00:20:41] Speaker A: How are you finding it exactly? Because I think it's really good. [00:20:47] Speaker B: Yeah, no. [00:20:50] Speaker C: I think the battle system sort of stood out for me. [00:20:57] Speaker B: I think it's quite difficult for games. [00:21:01] Speaker C: To make a battle system that stands out that's quite distinct and doesn't just follow everything else. And I mentioned that it's similar to. [00:21:12] Speaker B: Ff ten or octopath, but it does focus a lot on elemental weaknesses, on different attacks. [00:21:23] Speaker C: You can sort of only use one set of attacks before you have to defend. [00:21:28] Speaker B: So it sort of has a reason. [00:21:31] Speaker C: To want to defend. The defense functions also give you other benefits as well, the buffs. So, yeah, I'm enjoying that. [00:21:42] Speaker B: I do like that it's quite Sci-Fi focused as well. [00:21:46] Speaker C: So you go to different planets? Because I think when I typically think of an rpg, it's all, especially an old school rpg. It tends to be, in my mind, just a fantasy setting. [00:22:04] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:22:05] Speaker C: And no one mentioned fantasy star, which also went to different planets. It's nice to have something a bit. [00:22:16] Speaker B: More Sci-Fi as well. [00:22:19] Speaker A: Yeah, I really enjoyed it. I played it as, you know, like. [00:22:23] Speaker B: Several years ago, and. [00:22:28] Speaker A: I was hoping they would make more stuff in the similar style, but I don't know if the company has. I was keeping an eye on them for a while, then I stopped because I know they made, like, cthulhu saves the world. And I think the last thing I remember I'm releasing was Cthulhu saves Christmas, but I haven't played them. [00:22:49] Speaker C: Yeah, I'm not familiar with their work at all, aside from what I've played of Cosmic Star so far. But yeah, I've been enjoying this one and certainly if they did a sequel. [00:23:07] Speaker B: Or if they did another rpg, I'd. [00:23:11] Speaker C: Definitely be up for grabbing it. [00:23:17] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm sure. The last thing I remember him doing was Cthulhu saves Christmas. [00:23:24] Speaker B: Don't quote me on that. Okay. I could be wrong. Quote. The last game that I made was Kulu saves Christmas. It's just quoting you, Matt. I honestly. [00:23:42] Speaker A: Look, what's the newest release? Zebroid digital entertainment. This way madness lies like the newest thing. [00:23:54] Speaker B: Okay, there you. [00:23:57] Speaker C: What games have you been playing recently? [00:24:01] Speaker A: Let's see. I've played a little bit of fortnite with my kids. [00:24:09] Speaker B: See you. [00:24:10] Speaker A: Bold shooting stuff or losing. [00:24:14] Speaker B: Turtles are. [00:24:15] Speaker A: In this, so that's cool. As in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or as they were back in my day in the UK, Teenage Mutant hero turtles. I've recently been playing Robocop Rogue City. That's rather fun, playing Robocop, just like. But it's not just about that. There is more to it. There's like obviously side objectives, searching for evidence and clues and things. It's more than just walk around shooting shit. It's a rather good game. If you get a chance to play, you should definitely check it out, man. I know I'm not really selling it, but I still haven't finished it. I want to finish it and then I was going to do a review, but I don't know I will. But it's really good. When you start off, it's like, oh yeah, just robocop. You just walk around and shoot things. But like after you do the first mission, it opens up more. It's not like a big open world game, but it opens up in the sense of like, you can do side activities. You speak to a psychiatrist kind of person as. As a robocop, which is OD, but it kind of looks like obviously different sides of things and you can have different interactions, which I think give different responses from people. [00:25:52] Speaker B: It's rather enjoyable. [00:25:54] Speaker A: Tough in the area I was in last. I need to do some more side stuff to level up my shit. [00:26:00] Speaker B: So. [00:26:00] Speaker A: I could be a bit tougher and not die easily. Well, I say easily, not easily, but still die. Where else have I been playing? Think off the top of my head. Honestly, I can't think. Don't know why. [00:26:19] Speaker B: Found it. Tears of the kingdom. [00:26:22] Speaker A: Well, I finished tears of the kingdom recently and I really enjoyed it. I actually pour in more time into tears of the kingdom than I did breath of the wild. A lot of people loved breath of the wild. I thought it was all right. I didn't enjoy her as much as others. I still think it's a really good game, don't get me wrong, but I just didn't love it. Whereas even though teaser, the kingdom is the same place and there's more to it because of that, I enjoyed it more. Obviously the issues for some will be there's too much. There's like all the underground stuff. There's the sky stuff. The sky stuff. Some people will think it's not expanded upon enough, whereas the underground stuff is just too expansive. But because I didn't pour in like ridiculous amount of hours like some will do to try and get everything done, I put in like 100 and something hours. [00:27:16] Speaker B: So for me that was enough. [00:27:21] Speaker A: And then I just finished the game. I was like, right, okay, I'm going to crack on with the story parts of stuff now because that's what I wanted to do. And honestly I think it's a better. [00:27:29] Speaker B: Game than breath of the wild for the most part. [00:27:34] Speaker A: I missed the bombs though. Fucking bomb flowers. [00:27:39] Speaker B: What a shite. Really? [00:27:41] Speaker A: Ever fucking had any? Most I had at once was like eight. [00:27:45] Speaker B: Enough. Know what I'm hearing? [00:27:48] Speaker A: Wow. But grounded me and Cumberdanes have been playing on Wednesdays. We most of the way through that now as well. That's quite fun. Even though it's got like survival aspects and they piss me off. They're not too bad. But the game is quite tough because it's a game about garing material, building something, using that and kill things to then build a slightly better version of it and keep on doing that and it gets tough. Some of the stuff does. Like I said, I don't think we're too far from finishing it, but we'll see. [00:28:35] Speaker B: That's all right. [00:28:36] Speaker A: If you've got game pass on pc or Xbox, you can play it. It's worth checking out. Definitely. [00:28:44] Speaker B: Yeah, there you go. [00:28:46] Speaker C: Game pass. [00:28:48] Speaker A: Exactly. Moving on to top news. Jeff is the one with the news today, so Jeff can introduce it. [00:29:13] Speaker C: Okay, so our first bit of news, we've got two items for you is Jim Carrey is back for Sonic three. I think at first it sort of stated that he wouldn't appear for referred. [00:29:29] Speaker B: Sonic movie but it turns out that was wrong. He is back. [00:29:39] Speaker C: He's sort of slated to be back anyway. And yeah, I think I've only seen. [00:29:46] Speaker B: The first Sonic movie but really liked. [00:29:49] Speaker C: His rendition, his portrayal of Dr. Robotnik. [00:29:55] Speaker A: See, I'm more controversial in that. I like Jim Carrey in the film. I think he's great, but I don't think he's great as Dr. Robotnik. If that makes is it's because he. [00:30:07] Speaker C: Doesn'T look like him. [00:30:08] Speaker A: No, it's because he doesn't. To me he doesn't act like Dr. Robotnik does. In like the stuff I've seen Dr. Robotnik in. He's a very specific way whereas Jim Carrey is also very specific way. In his comedic acting a lot of the time. And I think Jim Carrey just plays Jim Carrey. Not that that's a bad thing, but it doesn't to me seem like the daftness that you get from Robotnik and say Sonic boom or something. [00:30:37] Speaker B: Right. You know, that's fair, I think. I mean, I've. [00:30:48] Speaker C: The first Sonic movie was actually the last movie I saw prior to lockdown. I actually went to see it with. [00:30:57] Speaker B: Some work colleagues close and. Yeah. [00:31:05] Speaker C: Because previously I saw the initial sonic trailer back when Sonic looked shit. Yeah. I went into a movie not having high expectations at all. [00:31:20] Speaker B: So, yeah. Came out of it probably feeling better. [00:31:26] Speaker C: About it than I would have done if I'd gone in with sort of neutral expectations. [00:31:33] Speaker B: And. Yeah. [00:31:36] Speaker C: Enjoying Jim Carrey in particular. [00:31:39] Speaker B: I've not seen the second one good, but really good. [00:31:51] Speaker C: I think overall that the feeling is that people do like Jim Carrey. [00:31:59] Speaker A: I can see why he's great. [00:32:01] Speaker B: It's just like a good actor. [00:32:05] Speaker A: He's funny and what have you. It's just he's not how I picture Robotnik in a. [00:32:16] Speaker B: North. [00:32:17] Speaker A: Because of how he looks. [00:32:21] Speaker C: Just how he acts. [00:32:24] Speaker A: Yeah. Like I said, in other things I've seen Robotnik and he acts a very specific way, especially in the more newer stuff compared to like the old 90s cartoon. Sorry. He always acts in a very specific way and obviously you want to try and change it up a bit, but Jim Carrey is Jim Carrey in a lot of his films. And he acts a very certain portrayals of things. He acts in a very over the top, exaggerated way, like Ace Ventura, Bruce Almighty, Dr. Robotnik. They all have very over the top kind of daftness to them. And I don't feel that's Robotnik. But at the same time, I enjoy Jim Carrey in the film. [00:33:14] Speaker B: So kind of not really an issue for me then. [00:33:21] Speaker C: Yeah, no, that's fair. And again, breaking news, guys. We have also had a spy in our midst. [00:33:35] Speaker B: This was a pigeon that was accused. [00:33:40] Speaker C: By indian authorities of being a chinese spy. And it is detained for eight months before being released. [00:33:50] Speaker B: And do you know why it was released? [00:33:54] Speaker A: Because it had a sticker on it saying it was from a different place. [00:34:03] Speaker B: You know what? [00:34:04] Speaker C: You're pretty close with why it is detained. I'll give you that. So it's detained because it had two rings, I believe, tied around its legs with what appear to be chinese writing, chinese symbols. It turns out it's actually a racing pigeon from Taiwan has escaped. [00:34:31] Speaker B: Right. And blown over a border. [00:34:35] Speaker C: Obviously. [00:34:36] Speaker A: Can't even trust pigeons nowadays. [00:34:41] Speaker C: You can't trust anything, right? I didn't read any article or watch any video. [00:34:49] Speaker B: I just saw like the title for. [00:34:52] Speaker C: YouTube video about all these smart toothbrushes being subject to a DDoS attack. So you can't trust your pigeons. You can't trust your toothbrushes. [00:35:07] Speaker A: Jesus Christ. It's mad, isn't it? To think your toothbrush is going to. [00:35:11] Speaker B: Fuck up on her. I know. [00:35:15] Speaker A: Dear. [00:35:16] Speaker B: It's our terminator starts. Guys. [00:35:25] Speaker A: Can you imagine? [00:35:27] Speaker B: Didn't. [00:35:50] Speaker A: Terrible. [00:35:52] Speaker B: Do you think of terminate a joke? I know. [00:36:00] Speaker C: You don't know. [00:36:00] Speaker A: I don't know. I can't know. [00:36:02] Speaker B: I know, I agree. [00:36:07] Speaker C: There you go, guys. [00:36:08] Speaker B: Watch out for pigeons carefully. [00:36:12] Speaker A: Be smart, toothbrush. [00:36:16] Speaker B: There you go. [00:36:30] Speaker A: Well then we play together. The game is blossom tales to the minotaur prince. And I got it right that time straight away, I think. And it obviously is a follow up to blossom tales, but I can't remember the subtitle for the first game. I think it had one. [00:36:56] Speaker C: It was like sleeping King. [00:36:58] Speaker A: The sleeping king. Yeah, that's what it was. That's why I got King confused. Yeah, that's why I was the sleeping king, which we played for the podcast. You didn't play that much of it because you then streamed it like a git. But I played it near completion, I think. Like I've done with this one. I think I've nearly finished it, but I haven't finished it. How have you gone on with this then? [00:37:24] Speaker C: So similar to a first one, I've not played quite as much. [00:37:28] Speaker B: Maybe about an hour or two to be fair. [00:37:33] Speaker C: Got distracted by the fishing, but yeah, maybe about an hour and a half, I'd say. [00:37:45] Speaker A: How are you finding it so far? [00:37:49] Speaker C: I enjoyed the first one. I think I beat that in maybe about 9 hours, 10 hours, this one. [00:37:59] Speaker B: I like how it gives you a. [00:38:02] Speaker C: Nice little tutorial at the start, especially. [00:38:04] Speaker B: Fighting the different enemies when you get. [00:38:07] Speaker C: To choose, so it sort of introduces. [00:38:09] Speaker B: You to the combat. [00:38:11] Speaker C: The puzzles that I've encountered so far in sort of the first few areas. [00:38:16] Speaker B: Have been fairly straightforward. [00:38:19] Speaker C: Nothing too obtuse. Also not like, I suppose it's stuff that makes you feel clever once you. [00:38:33] Speaker B: Figure it out and like scaring the. [00:38:38] Speaker C: Ghosts away with the lights. I've enjoyed the first boss as well, which again, interesting boss mechanics. And I think I said it with the first one, and I say it with this one. It's a really good love letter to the classic Zelda games. [00:39:09] Speaker A: Yeah, I agree with that. I think I said it with the first game, but it reminds me of top down classic Zelda. But more than anything, it makes me think of the Game Boy Zelda games, specifically the feel of the game and some of the things that are mentioned. [00:39:33] Speaker B: Makes me think of that more than. [00:39:37] Speaker A: Like, link to the past. It makes me think of Link's awakening and the. [00:39:48] Speaker C: I mean, Link's awakening is the only solid game I've completed, and I've got really real soft spot for that game because it was one of the few games I had in Game Boy color. [00:40:07] Speaker B: Yeah, it's going to blossom tail and blossom tales, too. It's nice, sort of. [00:40:20] Speaker C: As I say, it's good to be able to experience that kind of game again. [00:40:28] Speaker A: One thing I'm liking about this game, I don't know if you've come across it yet, but you don't buy portions in this game. Again, I think in the first game, I think witches. Yeah, you bought portions and stuff, but in this you can just get a health portion, and then as long as you got the ingredients, you can just make them whenever you want. As long as you've got a pot. It's not whenever you want, but as long, which is still easier than buying portions, though you tend to get a lot of money quite easily a lot of the time by just digging and going into people's houses and smashing up. [00:41:03] Speaker B: Their stuff. [00:41:05] Speaker A: Walk in, talk to someone, then just break all their ornaments or the chairs, open their chests and walk off. [00:41:15] Speaker C: Making a fair amount of progress. And then the fishing minigame became available and just went round fishing everywhere and just selling all the fish. [00:41:26] Speaker B: Terrible. Terrible. [00:41:30] Speaker A: Yeah, I've made it through a fair whack. I think I'm nearing the end, but I've still got a fair whack of space for items. I'm not sure if it's going to be various bottles or maybe there's more to the game than I realize. I don't know. But there's definitely still space there for, like, another six or so items, maybe more. [00:42:00] Speaker B: I don't know. [00:42:04] Speaker C: Yeah. Imagine if you've committed yourself to another. [00:42:07] Speaker B: Hundred hour game like is of the kingdom. No, leave me alone. [00:42:19] Speaker A: I know there's some things I got to go back and sort out. [00:42:21] Speaker B: I got to collect. [00:42:23] Speaker A: Find more diamonds. I've got to find more statues that you put, like fruit don. I think they've still got a jar or two I can buy. There's bits and bobs like that. But overall, I think if I wanted to, I could maybe finish the game. I think I'm in the final dungeon, but I don't know if it's going to be, ha, there's another dungeon or something, because I don't know. [00:42:54] Speaker B: You never know. Yeah. [00:43:00] Speaker C: I remember with the first game, I. [00:43:02] Speaker B: Think there's certainly one puzzle that I did after Google. [00:43:09] Speaker C: I think it's to access, like, one of the dungeons as well. [00:43:18] Speaker B: I think the answer was something really. [00:43:20] Speaker C: Basic that I just missed out on. I do like how this one sort of gives you a bit of a range, a bit of a shadow, I think, for when you're doing your attacks. [00:43:32] Speaker B: To allow you to determine what range. [00:43:36] Speaker C: You'Ll be hitting and stuff. So that's a nice little idea. [00:43:41] Speaker B: Yeah, I get you. Yeah. [00:43:48] Speaker A: I don't know if there's, like, a lot of quality of life improvements. It seems like, pretty similar. It's just got, like, a new story. It's not set in the same place. It does reference later on. You can get an instrument from a. [00:44:04] Speaker B: Bard, and he's like, oh, yes, you. [00:44:08] Speaker A: Can get this flute. And Chris is like, oh. [00:44:15] Speaker B: Didn'T she. [00:44:16] Speaker A: Already have flute back in the other story? And then what's the girl's name again? [00:44:29] Speaker C: It begins with L. Lily. [00:44:32] Speaker A: Yeah, Lily. Lily's like, no, that's the other stories you're thinking of with the boy or something like that. So it's referencing Zelda. [00:44:40] Speaker B: They. [00:44:40] Speaker A: And then you can pick between two different instruments that are not an ocarina. Because that's one thing I like about these games, is because it's a story being told to grandchildren. They sometimes bicker about certain things, and then you decide on which one of their things. It doesn't seem to change anything drastically, but it does, like, you can have a different fight or something happen. Oh, no, it's pirates. No, I think it should be werewolves or I don't think it's werewolves in it, but I'm just giving an example, that kind of thing. [00:45:15] Speaker B: Yeah, no, I think that beginning fight is quite an interesting one as well. [00:45:23] Speaker C: Where it sort of gives you different options, and then you have to fight different enemies. And then even the guy, the kid. [00:45:34] Speaker B: Comes in and gets defeated, and then. [00:45:37] Speaker C: He'S like, but I came back, spun into action and defeated my sister. [00:45:48] Speaker A: Naughty boy. [00:45:52] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:45:53] Speaker A: Overall, I'm really enjoying the game. I'm going to finish the game. I think I'm near the end, but I want to crack on with a couple of things because I'm like, aha. This thing is saying I need to do something, but I need something else first. So I want to work out how to do that. Before I finish the game, but then I'm going to crack on. I banged my elbow. But what about you, man? You're going to crack on the game or you're going to wait a little bit longer and give it a stream like you did with the first game? [00:46:26] Speaker B: You know what? [00:46:27] Speaker C: I think I might stream it. So, yeah, it'd probably be a Saturday stream at some point. [00:46:34] Speaker A: Oh, nice. What are you playing on Saturdays again? [00:46:38] Speaker B: Currently it's cosmic star. [00:46:40] Speaker C: I know I did it today, but that's because we've rejigged. Possibly tomorrow. [00:46:50] Speaker B: All right, there you go. Then. [00:46:54] Speaker A: You should check out Jeff when he's streaming possum tales, too. I'm enjoying it quite a lot. Just don't get hooked on the fishing again. [00:47:04] Speaker B: Try not to. [00:47:06] Speaker A: Brilliant. I think that about wraps us up. I think it's a bit shorter this episode than normal, but at the end. [00:47:14] Speaker B: Of the day, there's no set limit. [00:47:17] Speaker A: It comes in as it comes in. But anything you would like to plug, Jeff? [00:47:24] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:47:25] Speaker C: Tune into Peds's Pugsley review movie review channel. [00:47:32] Speaker B: Awesome. [00:47:33] Speaker C: Midnight run coming soon. [00:47:36] Speaker B: Midnight run. [00:47:38] Speaker A: It's going to be starring Jeff, going to be talking about the film Midnight run on Pugsley crew reviews with Jeffy, not Kerr this time. And also, don't forget to check out Jeff on Twitch. Twitch TV Jeffyard. Then Jeffya. [00:48:02] Speaker B: Jeff yard can talk about pigeons and toothbrushes. [00:48:09] Speaker A: Thank you very much for taking part, dude. It's a pleasure as always. [00:48:13] Speaker B: No problem. [00:48:14] Speaker A: And goodbye to everyone who's listened, and thank you very much for tuning in. I will see you in a fortnight. Bye bye. Hey.
